Quick announcement: the feature-length script Elimination Strain was officially accepted into the Austin Film Festival!
Feature Pitch
Dismembered bodies are turning up across the city, and conspiracy theories run wild—but the murders feel chillingly deliberate, each one echoing a savage, impossible signature. How could any human rip victims apart and scatter their limbs like roadside debris? Amidst a landscape of extreme paranoia and misguided lies spread by online radicals, a hidden predator begins targeting those deemed “compromised.”
Bailey, a loner goth student at the Gibson Institute of Technology who secretly moonlights as a candy-sweet livestreamer, watches as the people around her fall victim to the carnage. As she is drawn into the center of the violence, she finds herself unprepared for a threat that defies logic and physics alike. With suspicion falling on everyone and the attacks escalating, Bailey must outthink a conspirator who turns rumor into slaughter—and survive long enough to expose the terrifying reality of who, or what, is truly pulling the strings.
We do not meet Bailey in this Proof of concept.
About the Proof of Concept
This short film adapts an early scene from Elimination Strain, giving a glimpse of the danger that will unfold in the feature. A young couple is terrorized by a masked man in a hazmat suit. What begins as strange text messages quickly escalates into a nightmarish encounter, hinting at the terrifying force behind the murders, and setting the tone for the larger story. The poster also reflects the short and not the feature length script.
