As a filmmaker, I was always drawn to my Dad's quiet mastery and seeing the way his work connects people to a more peaceful version of themselves. Growing up attending galleries showcasing his work, overhearing how people felt an overwhelming peace was inspiring and made me feel - 'I'd like to make people feel that way.' I hope I did that with this documentary. Capturing my dad's journey was both a privilege and a creative challenge.
The film explores Roderick’s early years in rural Vermont, his shift from illustration to fine art, and the emotional depth behind his most celebrated pieces, such as Evening Light and The Red Barn.
