LOGLINE: A man tries to recover a lost memory by returning to his family's Vermont vacation home where an unspeakable act took place
TAGLINE: Escaping a nightmare only means you’re still in one
A psychological thriller - a midnight movie that unravels narcissism, manipulation, with a pinch of BDSM.
Loosely inspired by the 1957 French short film The Red Balloon, The Luring reimagines childhood innocence through a much darker lens. What begins as a personal quest for clarity soon unravels into something far more sinister.
Garrett returns to his family’s remote vacation home in Vermont, determined to recover a lost memory from his tenth birthday. Diagnosed with dissociative amnesia—a trauma-induced memory loss—he’s unaware of the unspeakable event buried deep in his subconscious.
As the line between nightmare and reality dissolves, Garrett finds himself entangled in a web of lies, psychological control, and twisted desires. The deeper he digs, the more distorted everything becomes—until truth itself begins to collapse.
The Luring is a surreal, slow-burn descent into the mind, culminating in a catastrophic and deeply disturbing climax.
