LOGLINE: A man tries to recover a lost memory by returning to his family's Vermont vacation home where an unspeakable act took place
TAGLINE: Escaping a nightmare only means you’re still in one
The Luring is a psychological thriller with a midnight movie vibe, unraveling narcissism, power, and the dangerous seduction of control.
Loosely inspired by Albert Lamorisse’s 1957 French short The Red Balloon, the film reimagines childhood innocence through a darker, more twisted lens. What begins as a personal search for clarity quickly mutates into something far more sinister.
Garrett returns to his family’s remote vacation home in Vermont, desperate to recover a memory from his tenth birthday. Diagnosed with dissociative amnesia—trauma-induced memory loss—he doesn’t realize the unspeakable event buried deep in his subconscious is waiting to consume him.
As the line between nightmare and reality unravels, Garrett is pulled into a web of lies, psychological manipulation, and dangerous desires. Each revelation drags him further down until truth itself begins to collapse.
Proud winner of the Best Thriller Feature Motor City International Nightmare Flm Festival, The Luring doesn’t play by the rules of traditional horror. It’s a slow-burn descent designed for audiences who crave layered characters, ominous foreshadowing, and a story that refuses to hold your hand.
Now streaming on Amazon Prime, Tubi, YouTube, and Google Play.
