This is a BTS from our film The Luring, a turning point in our film where Claire bares her soul to Garrett. How does he respond? We learn a lot about their relationship, their wants, desires, how they react towards each other..and the level of subtle manipulation that helps build character development.
We shot this scene in one take, a slow dolly in. It was raining that day so we had a tiny window of dryness in-between clouds so we had to act quickly to get the shot and our actors nailed it the very first time! It's a beautiful set up, the camera acts as a subliminal force, closing in on the couple. When the shot begins and is far away they are happy and enjoying the scenic view and each other but as the camera dollies/creeps in, their conversation changes and we learn a lot about their intentions. Great script with great directing and acting- a perfect combination.
